What it actually does

  • Comprehensive Supabase development skill covering every core product: Database, Auth, Edge Functions, Realtime, Storage, Vectors, Cron, and Queues.
  • Covers client libraries and SSR integrations (`supabase-js`, `@supabase/ssr`) across Next.js, React, SvelteKit, Astro, and Remix, plus troubleshooting auth (sessions, JWTs, cookies, RLS) and using the Supabase CLI or MCP server.

When to use it — and when not to

Use it when

  • Building or debugging any part of a Supabase-backed app — auth, schema, edge functions, or client integration.

Not for

  • You only need Postgres performance guidance — `supabase-postgres-best-practices` is the narrower, purpose-built entry for that.

The caveat that matters

Codex isn't named in Supabase's own compatibility list ("Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Cline, and many others") — that's a real omission, not an oversight on our part.

Agent compatibility

  • Claude Code
  • Cursor

Supabase's README names Cursor explicitly among "18+ AI agents" it's compatible with, distributed via the open Agent Skills format rather than a Cursor-specific mechanism.

Confirmed means the skill’s own source or vendor states it works with that agent. Portable means it only reaches that agent through the shared SKILL.md format and a directory convention — real, but a weaker claim. An agent with no entry here isn’t known to be unsupported; it simply isn’t documented either way, so nothing is claimed. Full model on Agent Skills Compatibility.

Requirements and operational surface

Depends on

  • A Supabase project
  • Optionally the Supabase CLI or Supabase MCP server
